Render & Insulation

The render has been completed on the top and most of the bottom floor.  The darker colour on the protrusion at the front is yet to be done, along with the garage.  Render colour seems a little lighter than we thought, but perhaps that is just the light and it may darken as it gets harder? The insulation was put in this week.  Was happy to see that they did all the external walls as well as ceiling.  We insulated the theatre and then as there was a delay to the plaster, we decided to insulate the ceiling on the bottom floor to help dampen the noise from the upper floor.  Rian and I did this on Saturday morning.  Dirty job, but we suited up with all the right gear.  Definitely worth doing.  Dad, we insulated around the toilets upstairs as you suggested.

Hebel complete and electrical done

Some more progress this week. Hebel is complete and the electricians have been through. 40 odd lights and about the same amount of power points so cables everywhere!  Going in to do some speakers and network cable on weekend before plaster starts on Monday. Ducted vacuum pipes have been installed including a hide-a-hose where the vac hose goes up into the pipe work when not in use. Pretty cool stuff. Heating and cooling goes in tomorrow. Finally sorted out the refridgerated cooling. Four separate zones with sensors to automatically turn on and off the heating in certain areas as required. Amazing system but bloody expensive too! Anyway you don't want to skimp on the important stuff. Check out the photos. Base coat of render is due to start tomorrow. Put more phots up after the weekend.

Top floor Hebel and Some more internal work

Pretty rough weather last week put the hebel guys a bit behind but they should be done early this week and then the render starts. Doors have been installed to the laundry and garage into the house. No front door as yet. Internally, more plumbing has been done with internal drain, shower bases, bath frame for upstairs and spa downstairs. Small change to plans as they needed to put in a bulkhead to drain from the toilet in Jessica's ensuite so had to bring pipe through laundry, then over the kitchen window across the pantry and powder room.  This resulted in lower ceilings in both pantry and powder room by 300mm. No big deal as ceiling heights were already raised so they are back to 8'. As an appeasement PD are putting in three down lights over the kitchen sink in the bulkhead which will look good. Electrical work this week and plaster is due to start Monday week so progress still outstanding considering that the slab went down in the first week of October!

Bottom Floor Hebel Complete

Bottom floor has been clad.  Corner joins are done with a white silicon type adhesive and the joins and screw holes are done with the hebel adhesive.  Top floor will be done this week when the scaffold goes up on Monday.  They will then render from the top to bottom - 3 coats.  Electrical work should start later this week and into next. Plaster is due to start on 25/11 and lock-up around then as well.

Hebel Walls Started

Being Melbourne cup tomorrow thought that there would be no change since Friday but upstairs windows are in. All the plumbing finished including the hot and cold water the alfresco next to gas point. Hebel cladding has started and should go up quickly if the progress over the last four weeks is any indication. Jessica had her first good look upstairs and was very excited.
