Practical completion inspection done

Completed the practical completion inspection this morning.  Lots of paint digs and scrapes to clean up and few other small issues like render to be leaned out of window tracks etc. everything else is done and we will have handover next Wednesday 9/4/14 at the latest.  The carpet layers are in the next day and will take three days to complete. Appliances, blinds, internal vacuum, foxtel and anything also will be done on Tuesday the next week after floors are finished. Fence posts and rails go in this week. No palings until we have finished the concrete so we can shoot it through from the adjoining blocks that haven't been built on yet. The roller doors have been changed, in fact they were being done today when we were up there. See photos.

Site clean and render finished

The site clean was done on Friday. He also prepared the areas for concrete paths and driveway. The renderers also completed the front of the house. The roller doors are yet to be changed, should happen this week. The splash backs and all shower screen should also go in.  The kitchen sink isn't in yet but the laundry one is. Hopefully the PCI happens later this week. See photos.

Slow Progress

Haven't posted for a fair while.  There unfortunately hasn't been a lot of movement at the house.  The tiling was finished a few weeks back and the basins, toilets and some taps have gone in, but we are still waiting for shower screens that have been close to three weeks and a splash back that is still being constructed, despite the fact that the kitchen has been in since December!

I met the new site supervisor on Monday at the house.  Nice bloke but completely snowed under with his own projects plus others like mine that he has been given after our previous site supervisor's departure. At this point it looks like we will be getting handover on about the 9-10 April in the first week of the school holidays.  Originally he told me after Easter which simply was not going to be accepted because we were initially promised end of March at the latest.

The floors go in on the day of handover and will take four days to complete as it is such a massive job, but it looks like they will work over the weekend for us which is good.  So it leaves a week for us to get settled in.  Better than nothing I suppose. It has been a frustrating few weeks.

The roller doors are being changed back to what we originally ordered this week. They actually just turf the other doors. The shower screen and splash back in next week.  as soon as this is done we do the PCI (practical completion inspection) where we go through each room and note any blemishes or problems. they the rectify those over the next week or so and then handover takes place.

The bobcat operator that does the site clean is also doing our concrete preparations this Friday so will be able to start laying paths and driveway ASAP from handover.  We intend to take everything up on the 11-12th and just put in the garage and sort out from there while the floors are being done.

The fences are also being organised.  I am getting them to just put in the posts initially so i can get the truck into the backyard.  We don't have any neighbours as yet so going to take full advantage of the side access.  Temporary fence goes down this week. Cant concrete anything until after handover but will put in the two pads for the HWC and air conditioner compressor so they are raised higher than the path.

still having issues with the cross-over.  Integra the developer and Porter Davis won't move the telstra pit and we can't put a steel cover over it so looks like we have to shell out the $815 to get it moved.  Not happy but unfortunately we have no alternative.  should wait until i see some telstra guys working in the new subdivision and offer them a couple of hundred cash to move it for me?

anyway we are getting there - slowly! Will take some more photos on the weekend if I can. It is all locked up solid at the moment so getting in relies on someone working there.
